New Year's Eve in Lenin Square
January 1, 2018, 01.00
Interactive musical theatrical program with participation of
Father Frost, Snow Maiden and a fairy-tale character, the symbol of the coming year – a yellow dog. They will congratulate guests and residents of the city on the holiday.
In the program there are festive fireworks from the Zh.-E. Zhiliber city park, contests, dances around the main Christmas tree.
The audience will be greeted by the soloists of the State Institution "Grodno City Cultural Center", well-loved artists and cover-bands of Grodno. The holiday will end with a New Year disco from DJs
with the best New Year hits.

Open republican track and field athletics competitions in 1-, 12- and 6-minute race "Grodno Spring"

Competitions are held traditionally in early spring. This competition allows to determine the state of physical fitness of the body of a professional athlete, a jogger and also a beginner. Competitions are conducted for all age categories.

Open city field and track race through the streets of Grodno for the prizes of the newspaper " Grodnenskaya Pravda". City festival of children's estrade creativity “Sem Viasiolkavyh Not” is a competition for choreographic collectives and vocal artists who popularize and develop contemporary pop art. The contest is intended to provide the young generation with the opportunity to grow creatively, to get acquainted with new trends and genres in pop art, to create an incentive for learning and improving the professional skills of participants. The purpose of organizing and conducting the competition is to identify and develop creative abilities in preschool and school-age children. It takes place in three age categories and in three nominations. The competition will be judged by a competent jury, which includes the best specialists in choreographic, vocal and theatrical skills.

Festival of Slavic Martial Arts
May 2018, the Hill of Glory
In the program of the festival, a sport event at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the sports hall of the struggle. About 40 sports and knight clubs from Russia, Ukraine, CIS countries, as well as subdivisions of the Ministries of Defense and Internal Affairs of Belarus will take part in the Hill of Glory. In the program there are colorful events with the participation of spectators - military games and competitions, master classes in archery and armor manufacturing, a tournament on historical fencing "shield-sword", a concert program with the participation of music and dance groups, the procession of the festival participants, theatrical costume performance.

Open Republican swimming tournament in memory of Olga Solomova

Olga Solomova is a legendary woman for Grodno. During the war years she was secretary of Grodno underground committee of the Komsomol. She created clandestine Komsomol groups, kept in touch with partisans, and conducted work among the population. In honor of this brave woman, not only the street of our city is named, but also an international swimming tournament is traditionally held among Youth Sports School and Children's and Youth Sports School. The tournament is held annually since 1984. Young athletes from Belarus, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia compete on the blue tracks of the swimming pool for several days.

The column of children's “cars” begins its movement from Sovietskaya Square along the route: Sovietskaya Street - Ozheshko Street - a fountain in the park named after Zh.E. Zhiliber - a summer stage in the city park. An unusual parade for Grodno has already become a good tradition. From year to year Grodno creatively approaches the design of children's
vehicles: wheelchairs in the form of a pirate ship, a tractor, a barrel of honey, butterflies, boxes with oranges and Cheburashka on the "board" and even the royal throne pass along the park's avenues. The program also includes a solemn registration of the child at the registry office of the Leninsky district of Grodno, exhibitions of family creativity, sports and recreational areas, children's fashion defile, flash mob, family bands performance and much more.

International multi-day bike race "Neman" on the route
Bialystok (Poland) - Grodno (Belarus).
July 2018 (streets of Grodno)
A large-scale sports competition will be held in Grodno 31 times. Participants of this event are cyclists from Belarus, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Moldova. The competitions begin in Grodno, they pass through Grodno region with a non-stop crossing of the Belarusian-Polish border at the Bruzgi checkpoint and end in Bialystok, Poland. For four days of competition athletes pass more than 250 kilometers.

VIII International Marathon of Friendship Grodno-Druskininkai

Festive events will be held in the concert hall “Grodno State Music College”, where the unique organ, only in all territory of the CIS "Magnus Silesia Royal" was recently installed. During creation of organ, the latest achievements of sound engineering and computer technologies were used, allowing to reproduce the real timbre sound of the really existing organs of Europe, recorded in the memory of the instrument.
The holiday "European organs sound in Grodno" will bring together outstanding Belarusian and foreign musicians.

Theatrical procession of Father Frosts and Snow Maidens

Procession begins with Sovietskaya Sq. and passes through Sovietskaya Str. to Lenin Sq. The procession includes the brass band, decorated cars from the city's enterprises, the main Father Frost and Snow Maiden, city management and guests, theatrical characters, Father Frosts, a fairy-tale character of the upcoming New Year. Arrival to Lenin Sq, the performance of the main Father Frost and Snow Maiden, lighting of the festive illumination and the main Christmas tree of the city, the performance of the city's collectives, a concert program.
